Claflin Fire and EMS Services are housed at 309 West Front Street along K-4 Highway. Fire and EMS personnel provide 24-hour, year around, 911 emergency services to the City of Claflin and Northeast Barton County including the towns of Odin, Hitschmann and Redwing. Claflin EMS is dedicated to providing advanced life support at a Paramedic and Advanced EMT levels, along with basic EMT patient care. The ambulance service was established in 1961 by the fire department. Claflin Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1921 and Claflin Fire District #1 was established in 1956 to serve the rural community. Claflin Fire and EMS has a rich history of providing fire prevention and protection and pre-hospital care with their many dedicated volunteers and is proud to serve the community.
